Structure of the gluon propagator at finite temperature

چکیده

The thermal self-energy of gluons generally depends on four Lorentz-invariant functions. Only two of these occur in the hard thermal loop approximation of Braaten and Pisarski because of the abelian Ward identity KμΠ μν htl = 0. However, for the exact self-energy KμΠ μν 6= 0. In linear gauges the SlavnovTaylor identity is shown to require a non-linear relation among three of the Lorentz-invariant self-energy function: (ΠC) 2 = (K −ΠL)ΠD. This reduces the exact gluon propagator to a simple form containing only two types of poles: one that determines the behavior of transverse electric and magnetic gluons and one that controls the longitudinally polarized electric gluons. 11.10.Wx, 12.38.Mh, 25.75.+r Typeset using REVTEX 1

QCD Propagators at non-vanishing temperatures

We investigate the behaviour of the gluon and ghost propagators, especially their infrared properties, at non-vanishing temperatures. To this end we solve their Dyson-Schwinger equations on a torus and find an infrared enhanced ghost propagator and an infrared vanishing gluon propagator. Lattice simulations provide evidence that zero-flavour QCD undergoes a ”deconfining” phase transition at som...

We evaluate the quark-photon vertex non-perturbatively taking into account the gluon condensate at finite temperature. This vertex is related to the previously derived effective quark propagator by a QED like Ward-Takahashi identity. The importance of the effective vertex for the dilepton production rate from a quark-gluon plasma is stressed. PACS numbers: 12.38.Lg Typeset using REVTEX Supporte...

Lattice calculation of gluon screening masses

We study SU(3) gluon electric and magnetic masses at finite temperatures using quenched lattice QCD on a 2033236 lattice. We focus on temperature regions between T5Tc and 6Tc , which are realized in BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and CERN Large Hadron Collider experiments. Stochastic quantization with a gauge-fixing term is employed to calculate gluon propagators. The temperature dependenc...

Behavior of logarithmic branch cuts in the self-energy of gluons at finite temperature

There have been many studies of thermal Green functions in gauge field theories [1–7], which show that their behavior at finite temperature is rather different from the one at zero temperature. In particular, it was recently pointed out by Weldon [8] that in QED, the logarithmic branch cut singularities cancel to one loop-order, in the thermal self-energy of the electron. The purpose of this no...

Effective Mass Generation of Off-diagonal Gluons and Abelian Dominance in the Maximally Abelian Gauge in QCD

We study the properties of gluons in QCD in the maximally abelian (MA) gauge. In the MA gauge, the off-diagonal gluon behaves as the massive vector boson with the mass Moff ' 1.2 GeV, and therefore the off-diagonal gluon cannot carry the long-range interaction for r M−1 off ' 0.2 fm. The essence of the infrared abelian dominance in the MA gauge is physically explained with the generation of the...
